Starting May 1, Google will be shutting down Blogger's FTP publishing feature, so I won't be updating this site anymore. I'm also no longer in Taiwan and done with grad school, so I don't have much time to make videos.
This site will still stay up though as static pages, but you guys can't leave comments anymore because comments are also updated through FTP. But you guys can leave comments in this Blogspot page I made to mirror this post.
In the meantime, maybe you guys could visit my new website (GemIsMyName.com), it's not as fun as this site because it doesn't have a lot of audio/ video content like before. It's mostly just my photographs of Manila, but there are also a lot of photos of Taiwan too. The link to the photo blog is Photography.GemIsMyName.com.
Here are the links to the photos i took during my trip to Taiwan in 2008 and 2010. 1. 2008 trip link 2. 2010 trip link
This video is really freaking funny. it’s a a song in the vernacular (Hokkien, to be specific, but if you can understand Taiwanese, you’ll have no problem understanding the lyrics) about a dude who wishes he has a million bucks. it mashes up the lyrics, however, with images of western pop-culture references (oh and the images in the video are not just randomly put together. they’re actually all connected to the lyrics too– that’s what’s amazing about it all. darth vader? the villain in austin powers? i’m sold.), and it’s really really funny.
for example there’s this part that says if he has a million bucks he can marry a beautiful chick. he uses an image of a bride juxtaposed with the words “me love you long time” (the first english sentence every east and southeast asian ho should learn in ESL school. kidding!!).
i put up photos i shot from over a year ago of the same place i shot in the video in the 'screenshots' section because the still images i shot the day i made this video were too low-quality.
by the way guys, sorry i haven't updated in a long time. i was caught up with real-world stuff. thanks to all of you who e-mailed and left comments. thanks for your concern! i really appreciate it, and i'm glad you guys haven't forgotten about me yet. =)
